We are starting to plan our annual class Field Trip. We have several choices about where we'd like to go; Elks Theater, Swim Center, Bowling, Outdoor Campus. We'll probably end up choosing two locations as well as eat pizza someplace. We're pretty darned excited!
Today, I wanted to test the kids to see how much they understood about deposits and withdrawals, so I gave them a little pop quiz. They were asked to write as many types of deposits and withdrawals as they could think up. It was pretty tough, as they were asked to do it independently within a group of students (without help from teachers!)

http://www.kotatv.com/story/25105105/kids-with-disabilities-showcase-their-talent-in-rapid-city I hope you enjoy! We are all SO excited for the Second Annual Disability Awareness Talent Show tomorrow! The kids have been working VERY hard to prepare and practice for their acts. I can't even express how excited I am to see everyone's performance.
This week has and will be very busy. On Tues, I went to Pierre to the Council for Disabilities Conference to speak to them about our coffee shop. They had a lot of great questions and discussion. If you'd like to see the presentation, it's located on our "Media" page down at the bottom. Tonight is conferences. It's always a pleasure to talk with parents about their kids aside from the, sometimes stressful, IEP stuff. We received brand new Braille playing cards. Our student with vision impairments had a great time crushing his teachers in a quick game of war. Here's a pic:
We have been busy little bees getting ready for our art show. I can't even keep up with the kids! We pre-sold many pieces today and the artists were pretty stoked.
I've received several applications for Talent Show Acts from the middle schools. I'm very excited, I can hardly stand it! Here's some pics of some art we've made this week: This morning the students were excited to see a huge canvas! We got lots of art supplies donated by my friend, Lisa Howard. Just in time for our art show! Lots and lots of art is ready to be hung. I'm so excited to show off our artists!
In math class today, we played some fun math games. Here's some pics from our fun day: Our students have been making art like FIENDS! Art, art, and more art is streaming out of our room. Here's a few pics:
